Hello,
I have a new installation in a desktop pc in my office with the latest Ubuntu release. I tried to follow the instructions in : Knowledge Base - CERN Service Portal: easy access to services at CERN but failed.
I managed to install CERNBOX but this does not solve my problem and the way I need to work.
Thanks,
Ilias
We don’t have a package for all Ubuntu flavours (yet). You can always use sshfs via an lxplus node if you want mounted accces: sshfs user@lxplus.cern.ch:/eos/user/letters/user/ local-mountdir e.g. sshfs foo@lxplus.cern.ch:/eos/user/f/foo /myeos/
Which Ubuntu version do you have?
Thanks a lot.
I’ll try it as soon as I get back to the office. Unfortunately it seems since Monday my pc went OFF and can’t access it anymore from home.
My distribution is :
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Release: 20.04
Codename: focal
A side question: with this sshfs would I be able to mount eos project folders as well?
Yes,
You can acutually just mount /eos and it should give you access to everything via lxplus.
